WE LIKE TO WATCH: EPISODE TWENTY THREE - THE NEON DEMON

Episode 23! Stu and Billy are back at the cinemas this week and are The Neon Demon ! The Neon Demon  is a psychological horror film directed by Nicolas Winding Refn ( Bronson, Drive, Only God Forgives ). It stars Elle Fanning as Jesse, an aspiring model in Los Angeles whose natural beauty and youth generates intense fascination and jealousy within the industry. Jena Malone, Bella Heathcote, Abbey Lee, Christina Hendrciks and Keanu Reeves in supporting roles. As well as the film, Stu and I discuss what else we've been watching this week, and look over the latest in movie news. WE LIKE TO WATCH: EPISODE TWENTY TWO - SHIN GODZILLA

Episode 22! Stu and Billy are back this week and are ready to take on some kaiju as they watch Shin Godzilla ! Shin Godzilla  is a Japanese Science Fiction Kaiju film, and features Godzilla in his 31st appearance. It is the 29th Godzilla film produced by Toho and their 3rd reboot of the franchise. The film is set in modern day Japan and is a re-imagining of his origins. The film is co-directed by Hideaki Anno (Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (Attack on Titan), and stars Hiroki Hasegawa, Yutaka Takenouchi, and Satomi Ishihara As well as the film, Stu and I discuss what else we've been watching this week, and look over the latest in movie news. Revenger - Review

Allow me to take up a minority position on a sci-fi book you've probably not read. Revenger  is the latest yarn from noted British author Alistair Reynolds. It reads as an ungodly fusion of the best bits of Firefly , Pirates of the Caribbean  and The Aeronaut's Windlass . Or, rather, it reads like the best bits, but thrown together into a blender full of drywall and beige paint, mixed at setting 11, then served beside a glass of milk and a Woolworths rocket salad. Which is to say, in flowery terminology, it is really disappointing because it is so very, very boring. I'm honestly a bit baffled as to why critics have raved about the book over on Goodreads. Normally I avoid other detailed opinions on books until I've good and digested the 600 pages of sci-fi/cyberpunk/epic fantasy/Brandon Sanderson masterwork which I've just read. WE LIKE TO WATCH: EPISODE TWENTY ONE - LUKE CAGE

Episode 21! Stu and Billy are back this week to discuss Netflix's latest Marvel TV series  Luke Cage ! Luke Cage  stars Mike Colter as the eponymous character who is trying to rebuild his life in Harlem, but soon must confront his past and fight a battle for the heart of the city. The series follows the other Marvel Netflix series and is set after Jessica Jones and Daredevil Season 2. As well as the TV series film, Stu and I discuss the movie we watched this The Girl on the Train,  what else we've been watching this week, and look over the latest in movie news. Read, Watch, Play! Ep.20 Live from EB Expo

 Read, Watch, Play! is back for another episode. Christof, Billy and TJ caught up at EB Expo and manged to record a quick podcast. We talked all things EB Expo which included Games, Trailers, and Gaming Hype Machine/PR.
